Transportation for cargo and parcel delivery has become more demanding within the African Continent and especially to war torn areas of Somali, South Sudan, Darfur, Chad,DR Congo and in the recent past it was very expensive to charter to those places. But the air operators in Africa have become innovative and creative and thus have introduced charter flights based on consolidation of cargo from different organizations to enable even those with small quantities to be able to airlift by charging per kilo.

You can do lease fly by taking the aircraft on ACMI rate whereby you will be responsible for fuel,landing,navigation,accommodation,parking fees and this will be viable if you have plenty of cargo as the minimum guaranteed hours are to be not less than 120 hours in a month whether you utilize full hours or not. Also you will be required to pay 2 month deposit and one month security for the guaranteed hours in advance before the commencement of the contract. Cargo flights in Africa have increasingly doubled due to poor road infrastructure and insecurity and also due to political instability in countries like, Darfur, Chad, South Sudan, Somalia, and DR Congo. The other course for increased freight charter demand is due to some being medicine which require to be transported immediately and some are perishables.
Most of the air operators have not restricted their operations only to cargo but they do also provide from Jomo Kenya International airport to Masai Mara, Amboseli,Samburu,Malindi,Lamu,Ukunda,Kilimanjaro,Mt Kenya, Shaba,Rusinga Island,Mfangano Island,Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Olduvai Gorge,Mt Meru, Gulu,Kabalega Falls, Fort Portal, Lake Albert for tourists flights both scheduled and non-scheduled flights. There are also flights from Arusha/Kilimanjaro to Lobo, Lake Manyara,Mafia Island,Ngorongoro Crater,Seronera,Serengeti,Pemba Island,Zanzibar,Mwanza,Mbeya,Dodoma,Kigoma,Selous and all these are found in Tanzania. We have Lake Albert, Kabalega Falls, Karuma Falls, Fort Portal, Bindi these are national parks in Uganda and Uganda is famous for Gorilla Safaris and their stable food being Matoke in English Bananas. On Lake Albert it borders with DR Congo where you can be able tosee Chimpanzee, Gorillas and Monkeys from the Uganda side without having to cross border. Also for tourists visiting Malindi ,Lamu,Mombasa,Ukunda can take a private plane travel to Zanzibar,Kilimanjaro,Daresaalam,Arusha,Pemba,Maasai Mara,Amboseli,Tsavo West/East, Finch Hatton’Kanzi ya Kanzi,Chyullu Hills,Galdesa,Kilanguni,Satao, among others.

The are daily scheduled flights daily to Juba and scheduled flights from Juba to the interior of South Sudan Like WAU,AKOBO,MALKAL.BENTIU,AYOD,YEI,RUMBEK among others. There is a consolidated cargo flight every week to Juba/Rumbek from Nairobi and freight and cargo flights twice daily from JKIA to juba daily but DANGEROUS GOODS and bulky freight not allowed for this you will have to charter or use the consolidated freight charter. Commercial flights operate in between Nairobi,Daresaalam,Entbbee,Kigali,Bujumbura,Mwanza,Dodoma,Kilimanjaro,Mombasa,Lamu,Malindi,Eldoret,Kisumu,Wilson,Juba,Rumbek,Goma,Lubumbashi.Kinshasha,Darfur,Chad,Mogadishu,Hargesia,Juba,Rumbek among others.
